Goobie the Brave Puffa Fish
In the depths of the ocean, among the coral and seaweed, there lived a puffa fish named Goobie. He was no ordinary puffa fish, for he was the tiniest and most adorable fish of them all. His chubby cheeks and round eyes made him the sweetest creature in the sea.
Goobie loved to swim around with his friends, the dolphins and the clownfish, but he never quite fit in. He was always too small to keep up with them and never quite sure what to say. But Goobie loved to listen to their stories, and although he didn't say much, he always felt happy and included.
One day, while swimming alone, Goobie came across a cookie cutter shark named Chompy. Chompy was notorious in the ocean for taking bites out of other creatures with his sharp teeth. Goobie was afraid, but Chompy seemed friendly enough and asked him where he was going.
"I'm just swimming around," said Goobie. "I don't really have anywhere to be."
Chompy didn't seem to mind this answer. He was impressed with how Goobie seemed confident being himself. But then, Chompy heard a voice behind him. It was Mrs Stingray, the strictest creature in the ocean.
"Chompy, what are you doing talking to that puffa fish?" said Mrs Stingray. "You know we don't associate with their kind."
Chompy was at a loss for what to say. Goobie didn't seem different to him at all. He was just a little fish with big dreams.
Mrs Stingray started to circle around them, her tail whipping back and forth. "I warn you, Chompy, if you associate with that puffa fish, you'll be in trouble."
But then something strange happened. Goobie started to puff up his cheeks. And before their eyes, he grew to twice his size. "You know what?" said Goobie in a booming voice. "I like being a puffa fish! I'm not afraid of anyone, not even Mrs Stingray!"
Mrs Stingray was taken aback. She had never been challenged before. And suddenly, she saw Goobie in a new light. He was brave and bold, and he liked himself just the way he was.
From that day on, Goobie felt he could talk to anyone he wanted to, and Chompy and Mrs Stingray realized that maybe they could too. Goobie taught them that being yourself was all that mattered in the end.
And so, the tiny puffa fish swam off into the ocean, his cheeks still puffed and a smile on his face. Who knows what adventure he would have next? One thing was for sure, though. He was happy just being himself.
