Mutt teaches Ellis the value of chores

Once upon a time, there was a little boy named Ellis. He was a curious little fellow who loved adventures and, most of all, delicious food. One day, whilst playing outside with his dog Mutt, he started to feel his stomach grumbling. "Oh, Mutt," he said, "I could really go for a juicy burger right now."

Ellis was in luck because, as it happens, there was a brand new burger joint that had just opened up down the road. Overcome with excitement, he set off to find it with Mutt at his side.

As they walked, Ellis imagined sinking his teeth into that juicy burger with all the trimmings - lettuce, tomato, cheese and a big dollop of ketchup. The thought made him so hungry that he began to run ahead, with Mutt trailing behind.

After a few minutes of running, Ellis turned back to check on Mutt, and to his surprise, the little dog had disappeared.

Ellis called out for Mutt, but there was no answer. Suddenly, he remembered something his mother had said to him earlier that day, "Ellis, you can play outside, but only after you've completed your chores. Firstly, tidy up your bedroom."

Then, it dawned on him what he had forgotten. He had been so caught up in his burger cravings that he had forgotten to clean his room. "Oh, no!" he exclaimed. "Mutt, we have to go back home."

As Ellis made his way back home, feeling disappointed, he saw Mutt sitting comfortably on the doorstep. "Mutt, you naughty dog," he said, scratching him behind the ears. "You know what they say, always do your chores before having fun!"

Ellis gave Mutt a big hug, picked him up, and went back to clean his room. After he had finished, he felt much better, and he even earned a few coins which he happily spent on getting his burger.

From that day on, Ellis always remembered to do his chores before having fun, and he would often chuckle to himself when he thought of the time Mutt had taught him a valuable lesson.

So, if you ever find yourself hungry and in search of some delicious food, don't forget to follow Ellis and Mutt's example. Remember, always do your chores first, and treat yourself after!
