Mason's Duck Friend and the Lesson of Love

Mason was a little boy with big brown eyes and a contagious smile. He had a fascination for everything in the world. Every day, he would go on little adventures to explore his surroundings. His Nana Jessica loved him very much and always encouraged him to follow his curiosity.

One day, Mason wandered into his Nana's garden and saw a beautiful duck waddling around. He was fascinated by the way it quacked and bobbed its head. Mason tried to go close to the duck, but it quickly waddled away. Mason was sad that the duck ran away from him, but Nana Jessica told him that ducks were shy creatures, and it was normal for them to be wary of strangers.

Days went by, and Mason became obsessed with the duck. He would keep going to the garden every day to see if he could spot it. One day, he discovered that the duck seemed to like him too. It came close to him and even let him pet it.

Mason was delighted, and he ran to tell his Nana Jessica. She was glad to hear that the duck had warmed up to Mason but warned him not to get too close to it as it could be dangerous.

However, Mason was determined to show the duck how much he loved it. He started to bring it little treats every day, like bread crumbs and seeds. The duck loved the attention and would quickly waddle to him whenever he saw him. Mason felt like he had found a new friend.

One day, Mason excitedly ran to Nana Jessica to show her how much the duck had taken to him. But to his surprise, Nana Jessica was holding a baby duck in her hands.

Mason was confused and asked his Nana Jessica about the baby duck. Nana Jessica explained that the duck he was befriending had a family and that the baby duck was its child. Mason's eyes widened, realizing that he had only been thinking about himself.

Nana Jessica explained to Mason that loving someone meant caring for them and looking out for their well-being. It was essential to understand the importance of family and friends. Mason felt ashamed and apologized to Nana Jessica for being selfish.

Nana Jessica smiled and hugged Mason tightly. She reminded him that the love from family and those closest to us was the most valuable thing in the world. Mason beamed, realizing that he had learned a valuable lesson from the duck.

From that day on, Mason understood the importance of loving and looking after those closest to him. Whenever he saw the duck, he would bring it food and check that the baby duck was safe. And every time he did, he would remember the wise words of his Nana Jessica and the funny twist with that duck he had befriended in her garden.
