The Boy and His Toys

The Boy and His Toys

Once upon a time there was a young boy who was always surrounded by toys. His room was filled to the brim with all kinds of toys; teddy bears, dolls, action figures, games and more. He was an obsessed collector and had so many that his mum believed he had a special magic all of his own. One night though, something strange happened. As the boy was fast asleep in his bed, his toys started to stir to life. At first, they just moved around the room, making strange noises and clattering against one another as they rummaged through his toy box. This woke up the boy and he was immediately filled with fear and surprise. The boy slowly stepped out of his bed and made his way to investigate. When he arrived in the middle of the room, he couldn’t believe his eyes. There, standing among the hundreds of toys, were three toy soldiers marching around in formation. The boy was so scared and confused that he silently slipped out of the room to find help. He quickly ran to his mum’s bedroom and told her what had happened. She smiled at him and gave him some sound advice: “go back in there and make friends with them,” she said. Feeling a bit braver, the boy went back in to the room and tentatively approached the soldiers. At first, they were a bit wary but with a bit of gentle persuasion, the soldiers began to talk to him. As it turns out, they were actually three old friends who had been reunited after being separated for many years. That night, the trio found a way to turn back time and, in the blink of an eye, the toys were returned to the shelves and the room was just as it was before all the commotion had started. The next day, the boy rounded up all his toys and took them out to the garden to play with. He remembered what had happened the night before and was extra sure to keep them all close together. The moral of the story is to stick with your friends. No matter what happens, it’s always best to keep them close. You never know when you might need a bit of help from an old friend.
