Glimmering Joanna and the Magic Glitter

Glimmering Joanna and the Magic Glitter

Once upon a time, in a world of glittery fairies and sparkling magic, there lived a tooth fairy called Joanna. Now Joanna was a very special tooth fairy, she loved collecting teeth and giving little surprises to children who left their teeth under their pillow. Joanna would fly down at night, silently tiptoeing across the room, making sure not to wake the children up. She would then gently take the tooth and leave behind a shiny coin or a tiny toy, as her way of saying thank you. One day, while Joanna was out collecting teeth, she saw a little boy named Thomas who had lost his tooth. She swooped down and scooped up Thomas’ tooth and flew away. But to her surprise, Thomas had seen her and called out, “Hey, wait, come back!” Joanna landed and asked Thomas what was wrong. Thomas told her that he didn’t want the coin or the toy. All he wanted was to meet the tooth fairy and ask her if she had any magic dust that could help him fly. Silly Thomas, thought Joanna. But she smiled and said, “You know what, let me see what I can do.” Joanna flew back to her cottage and searched high and low for some magic dust. She finally found a jar labelled ‘Magic Dust for Flying’. She took it back to Thomas and handed it to him. Thomas was ecstatic. He took the jar and opened it, but to his surprise, he found nothing but glitter inside. “This isn’t magic dust,” he said. “This is just glitter!” Joanna felt a pang of guilt in her heart. She had lied to Thomas to make him happy. She knew that she should have been honest, no matter how uncomfortable it felt. Feeling bad, Joanna went back to see Thomas once more. This time, she told him the truth. She explained that tooth fairies didn't have magic dust, but they did have glitter which was fun to play with. She gave him the glitter jar and explained that it was a symbol of the magic inside all of us. Thomas was fascinated. He saw the glitter as a reminder that he too had magic inside of him that he could share with others. From that day on, he sprinkled his magic glitter wherever he went, bringing smiles to all who saw it. And as for Joanna, she learned an important lesson that day. She realized that honesty is always the best policy, even if it’s uncomfortable at first. From then on, she made sure to always tell the truth, no matter what. And so, the tooth fairy, Joanna, achieved true magic – the magic of honesty and trust.
