Tommy's Sleepy Beat
Once upon a time, there was a little baby named Tommy. Tommy was the sweetest little baby you’d ever seen, with a head full of curly hair and the chunkiest of legs.
But Tommy had one problem: he couldn’t sleep. Every night, he would cry and wail and refuse to close his eyes. His parents were at their wits’ end, trying everything they could to soothe him.
They rocked him, sang to him, even took him for long walks in the stroller. But no matter what they did, Tommy just wouldn’t sleep.
One night, as Tommy’s parents sat on the couch, exhausted and defeated, they heard a strange sound coming from the nursery. It was a soft, rhythmic noise, like someone tapping their fingers on the wall.
Curious, they tiptoed to the door and peeked inside. What they saw made them burst out laughing.
Tommy was fast asleep, his tiny hand thumping against the wall in perfect time to an imaginary beat. He looked so peaceful, so content, that his parents couldn’t bring themselves to wake him up.
From that night on, Tommy always found a way to soothe himself to sleep. Sometimes it was tapping on the wall, sometimes it was humming to himself, but he always found a way to drift off into dreamland.
His parents learned a valuable lesson about patience that day. Sometimes, the best way to solve a problem is to let it be and wait for a solution to present itself.
And as for Tommy, he grew up to be a happy, creative child with a love for music that never faded. It just goes to show that the most unexpected things can turn out to be the greatest gifts.
