Lily's Two Big Hugs

Once, in a cozy little house, lived a cheerful little girl named Lily. Lily's parents had separated, which meant she lived with her mommy during the week and spent weekends with her daddy. Although Lily loved both her parents dearly, she sometimes felt a little sad about not having them together all the time.

Lily had a special friend who always kept her company—a soft, cuddly bear named Benny. Benny listened patiently as Lily shared her thoughts and feelings. One evening, as Lily snuggled up with Benny, she looked up at him and said, "Benny, I wish I could have both mommy and daddy with me all the time."

Benny gave her a warm smile and said, "Lily, even though mommy and daddy live in different places, they both love you very much. It's like having two big hugs instead of one!"

Lily thought about what Benny said and smiled. The next day, Lily had an idea. She asked her mommy if she could make a special gift for her daddy. Her mommy agreed, and together they gathered colorful paper, glue, and glitter.

Lily carefully crafted a beautiful card for her daddy, filled with pictures and words that expressed her love. She proudly handed it to her mommy and asked if they could go visit daddy that weekend to give him the surprise.

When the weekend arrived, Lily skipped happily to her daddy's house, holding Benny tight. As soon as they arrived, Lily handed her daddy the special card she made just for him. Daddy's eyes sparkled with joy as he read Lily's heartfelt words.

"I love you, Daddy," Lily said, hugging him tight.

"I love you too, my little star," Daddy replied, tears of happiness in his eyes.

Lily spent a wonderful weekend with her daddy, playing games, going for walks, and sharing lots of giggles. When Sunday evening came, and it was time to go back to her mommy's house, Lily felt a warm feeling in her heart. She realized that even though her parents lived in different places, they both loved her very much.

From that day on, Lily treasured the time she spent with both her mommy and daddy. And whenever she missed one of them, she would give Benny an extra big squeeze and remember that she was surrounded by love.

And so, Lily learned that even though her parents were apart, she could love them both with all her heart.
