Liva and Zoel's Grandpa Adventure
I am Liva and he is Zoel, that's what I used to say when people asked me my name. When I was 3 years old, my dad used to tell me lots of stories about when he was little like us. My dad's name is Irani, and he always had a yellow dog named Bobi. He had many stories about him and Bobi, but today's story is about when GRANDPA JEROME FELL FROM THE TREE.
My dad would always start his stories by saying, "When I was super young." It was a beautiful and chilly winter day. Grandpa told us, "Son, you and Bobi stay inside where it's warm because it's very cold outside. I'll go to the forest to get some pine cones."
Grandpa Jerome climbed the tallest tree because that's where the most pine cones were. He sat on a branch and started collecting pine cones. But then, he sat too close to the edge of the branch, and a chubby monkey appeared, smiling and making funny sounds like "ik ik."
My grandpa said, "Go to another branch, chubby monkey!" But the monkey just kept smiling. Suddenly, my grandpa heard a cracking sound—crack crack! The branch broke, and my grandpa, along with the bag full of pine cones, couldn't hold on. They all came crashing down from up high.
Pufff! They landed on the ground, and my grandpa lay there on his back, making a sound like uuuuuuuufff. The monkey climbed down from the tree and came closer. My grandpa whispered softly, "Bring water."
The monkey went to the river, made a cup out of a taro leaf, and brought it to my grandpa. He drank and drank and said, "Thank youuuu." The monkey smiled and ran back into the forest, never to be seen again.
And that's the story of how my grandpa Jerome fell from the tree. The moral of the story is: if you don't have a tail, don't climb too high.
I love listening to my dad's stories about when he was young. They always make me smile and teach me important things. So remember, it's okay to have adventures and try new things, but always be careful and listen to your elders.
Now it's time for me to have my own adventures with Bobi, just like my dad did with his yellow dog. And who knows, maybe one day I'll have my own stories to share with other kids!
The end.
