Drago the Dragon: A Tale of Love and Adventure

In a cozy house by the bay, lived a boy named Kai, With his sister, Bailey, who was clever and spry. One sunny morning, as they played by a tree, They found something magical, as wondrous as can be.

A tiny green dragon, with wings of bright gold, Curled up in the flowers, a sight to behold. Kai and Bailey gasped, their eyes wide with awe, "We must keep him safe," said Kai with a draw.

"We'll hide him right here, in our secret place, No one will know, not a single trace!" They named him Drago, their new special friend, Promising to protect him, till the very end.

They built him a house from twigs and leaves, A cozy little home, beneath the big trees. Each day after school, they'd rush to his side, Feeding him berries, playing games far and wide.

But hiding a dragon was no easy feat, They had to be clever, and oh, so discreet. Their parents would wonder, "What are they up to?" Kai and Bailey had plans, they knew what to do.

They made up a game called "Dragon Patrol," To keep Drago hidden was their ultimate goal. "We're just playing knights," they'd say with a grin, As they guarded their dragon, their secret within.

One day in the garden, their parents drew near, Kai and Bailey felt a twinge of fear. "What are you hiding?" their mum asked with a smile, "Just playing a game," said Bailey with guile.

But just as they spoke, a small roar was heard, Drago peeked out, surprising the birds. Their parents gasped, their eyes opened wide, "A dragon!" they cried, "What do you hide?"

Kai and Bailey explained with all of their might, How they found little Drago, alone in the light. Their parents, astonished, then started to see, The love and the care in their children's decree.

"We'll keep him safe," their mum softly said, "But he needs a new home, where he can be fed." They found a dragon refuge, a place far away, Where Drago could fly, and safely could stay.

Kai and Bailey, with hearts a bit sad, Knew that this choice was the best they could've had. They hugged their dear Drago, and said their goodbye, Watching him soar, up into the sky.

And though they missed him, they knew he was free, Flying with dragons, as happy as can be. With love in their hearts, they looked up above, Remembering Drago, the dragon they'd love.
