The Heavy Backpack and the Helpful Friend

Tommy was excited for his first day of school. He had a brand new backpack, but he didn't realize how heavy it was until he put all his rocks inside. When he tried to lift it, it was so heavy that it made him stumble.

Tommy asked his classmates for help, but each one refused. One kid had a heavy backpack himself. Another kid said his backpack was too big. A third kid said he was too tired to help. And a snooty kid didn't want to help at all. The group of kids told him he should be able to carry his own backpack.

Feeling defeated, Tommy sat down on the sidewalk, not sure what to do. Just then, a new friend appeared. She had a big smile and a kind heart. She asked Tommy what was wrong, and he explained how heavy his backpack was.

Without hesitation, the new friend offered to help. Together, they lifted the heavy backpack and carried it to the classroom. Tommy felt so grateful to have a friend who was willing to help him when he needed it most.

From that day on, Tommy and his new friend became the best of friends. They helped each other with everything, from carrying heavy things to solving tricky puzzles.

The moral of the story is that it's important to help those in need. Sometimes, people might not understand how heavy our problems are, but there's always someone out there who is willing to lend a helping hand.
