Best Friends Forever: Shellea and Desta's Farm Adventures

Shellea was a 10-year-old African American girl who lived on a small farm with her parents. She loved animals and spent most of her free time with them. One day, a big storm hit the farm. The wind howled, the rain poured, and the sky turned dark. Shellea was worried about Desta, who was outside in her pen. She rushed outside with her parents to make sure Desta was safe and secure. They found Desta huddled in her pen, scared by the storm. Shellea comforted Desta, speaking softly to her and soothing her fears. She stayed with her until the storm passed, making sure Desta felt safe and loved. After the storm, Isabella said to Shellea, “I can see how much you love Desta. You’re so good at taking care of her, even when it’s hard.” Shellea smiled and said, “I love Desta with all my heart. She’s my friend, and I want to make sure she’s happy and safe.” Isabella nodded, understanding the importance of love and responsibility in caring for animals.
