Moonlight Magic: Simsim's Eid Surprise
**Simsim and the Moon’s Secret**
Simsim’s house was buzzing with excitement. His parents and older sister kept talking about the new moon. “The new moon means Eid is here!” they said with big smiles. Simsim loved how happy everyone looked, but he didn’t understand why the moon was so important. “It’s just a shiny thing in the sky,” he whispered to his stuffed bunny, Lum-Lum.
That night, after everyone went to bed, Simsim whispered to Lum-Lum, “Let’s stay up and ask the moon why it’s so special.” He tiptoed to the window, clutching Lum-Lum tightly, and looked up at the dark sky. The moon was a thin, glowing crescent, like a tiny silver smile.
“Moon?” Simsim said softly. “What’s your secret? Why does everyone care about you so much?”
To Simsim’s surprise, the moon seemed to wink! Then, in a voice as gentle as a breeze, it replied, “Oh, little Simsim, I have a very important job! I help guide your family and many others. I tell them when Ramadan begins, and when it ends, bringing the joy of Eid.”
Simsim’s eyes grew wide. “You can do all that?”
The moon chuckled. “Yes, but only if people watch me carefully and wait patiently. Sometimes I’m big and round, like a glowing ball, and sometimes I’m just a sliver, like tonight. That’s how they know what time it is in the special calendar your family follows.”
“Wow,” Simsim whispered. “You’re like a clock in the sky!”
The moon glowed proudly. “Exactly, little one. And do you know what my favorite part is? Seeing families come together, sharing joy, love, and yummy treats for Eid.”
Simsim smiled. “Thank you for telling me, Moon. I can’t wait for Eid now!”
The moon twinkled. “Goodnight, Simsim. Don’t forget to celebrate the little moments too.”
And with that, Simsim hugged Lum-Lum close, feeling as shiny as the crescent moon in the sky.
