Leo and the Wisdom of Milo
Leo lived in a small village at the base of a great mountain. He had always heard stories of a dragon that lived at the top of the mountain, and he had always dreamed of seeing it for himself. One sunny morning, Leo decided to set out on an adventure to find the dragon.
He packed some food, a map, and a compass, and set off on his journey. As he climbed higher and higher, the air grew cooler and the trees became sparse. After a long climb, Leo reached the summit of the mountain and saw the dragon soaring through the sky.
Excitedly, Leo began to chase after the dragon as it flew over lakes and through the valleys. He was determined to get close enough to see the dragon up close and hear it roar.
As he ran, Leo stumbled upon a small talking mouse who lived in a hole in the ground. The mouse introduced himself as Milo and asked where Leo was going in such a hurry.
"I'm chasing the dragon!" exclaimed Leo, out of breath.
Milo looked at Leo with concern. "You shouldn't chase the dragon, Leo. They are powerful creatures, and it's not safe to get too close to them."
But Leo was determined and continued to follow the dragon as it weaved through the mountains and over the lakes. He ignored Milo's warning and pressed on, convinced that he could get close to the dragon without any harm.
As they travelled, Milo told Leo about the dangers of disturbing the dragon. He explained that dragons were protective of their homes and could become aggressive if they felt threatened. Leo listened, but his excitement got the better of him, and he continued to chase the dragon.
Finally, the dragon landed on the edge of a deep ravine. Leo approached cautiously, hoping to get a good look at the dragon before it flew away. But as he got closer, the dragon let out a thunderous roar and spread its wings, ready to defend itself.
Terrified, Leo stumbled back and fell towards the edge of the ravine. In that moment, he realised the danger he had put himself in and regretted not listening to Milo's warning.
As he fell, Leo managed to grab onto a ledge and pull himself to safety. He looked up to see the dragon flying away, unharmed but still angry.
Leo felt ashamed of his recklessness and knew that he should have heeded Milo's advice. He thanked the little mouse and apologised for not listening to him.
From that day on, Leo learned to respect the creatures that lived in the mountains and understood that some things were better admired from a distance. He also learned the value of listening to those who have more knowledge and experience. Leo's adventure had taught him an important lesson, and he returned home with a newfound respect for the natural world around him.
