Lucy and the Magic of Being Different

Meet Lucy, a girl who was adopted and loved to eat sausage rolls and rice with salt. Her dad was really muscular and really funny. Her brother had a big belly and loved to do the cannon ball. Lucy had no friends because she had a beard.

One day, Lucy's dad came up with a plan to help her make friends. He took her to the local community centre where they were holding a talent show. Lucy was nervous, but she decided to give it a go. She went on stage and sang her favourite song. To her surprise, the audience loved it! They clapped and cheered, and Lucy felt a warm glow of happiness inside.

After the show, a group of kids came up to Lucy and told her how much they enjoyed her performance. They asked if she wanted to hang out with them, and Lucy couldn't believe her luck! She finally had friends.

As the days went by, Lucy's new friends taught her how to play football and even showed her their secret hideout in the woods. They didn't care that she had a beard, they just liked her for who she was.

One sunny afternoon, Lucy's friends invited her to a picnic in the park. They all sat on the grass, munching on sandwiches and crisps. Lucy brought along her favourite sausage rolls and rice with salt. Her friends tried it and loved it! They even shared their own snacks with her.

Suddenly, Lucy's dad appeared, carrying a huge hamper filled with delicious treats. He also brought along her brother, who did a cannon ball into the nearby pond. Everyone laughed and clapped, and Lucy felt so happy to have her family and friends all together.

That evening, as they walked home, Lucy's dad told her how proud he was of her. He said that she had shown everyone that it didn't matter what she looked like on the outside, what mattered was the person she was on the inside.

From that day on, Lucy felt more confident and happy. She realised that having a beard didn't make her any less special. Her friends loved her for who she was, and that was all that mattered.

The moral of the story is that true friends will accept you for who you are, no matter what you look like. And that it's important to be confident in yourself and embrace your uniqueness.
