Beru Did It! (Or Did He?)

Beru the rottweiler and Dot the toddler were the best of friends. They loved to play together and have all sorts of adventures. But sometimes, their adventures got them into trouble.

One day, Dot’s mom was busy taking care of Dot’s baby sister, Polka. She told Dot to keep an eye on Beru while she was busy. But Dot got distracted with his toys, and he didn’t notice when Beru ran off to explore.

Beru sniffed and snuffled around the house, looking for something interesting to get into. He found a shiny ball and started to play with it. But oops! The ball rolled down the hallway and knocked over a big vase. Crash! Dot heard the noise and came running.

When Dot’s mom saw the broken vase, she asked, “Who did this?” Dot looked at Beru and said, “Beru did it!”

Another time, Beru found a delicious smell coming from the kitchen. He jumped up and grabbed a loaf of bread from the counter. Dot ran in and saw Beru with the bread in his mouth.

Dot’s mom came in and asked, “Who did this?” Dot looked at Beru and said, “Beru did it!”

Every time Beru got into trouble, Dot blamed it on him. But even though Beru did get into trouble a lot, he and Dot were still the best of friends.

One day, Dot’s mom found out that it wasn’t always Beru’s fault. She saw Dot knocking over a glass of juice and spilling it all over the floor. Dot looked at Beru and said, “Beru did it!”

Dot’s mom laughed and said, “No, Dot. This time, you did it! It’s important to take responsibility for our own actions.”

From that day on, Dot and Beru learned to take responsibility for their own actions. And they continued to have all sorts of fun adventures together, with no more blaming each other for getting into trouble.
