Lily's Lovely Lists: A Time-Management Tale

Lily was a very busy little girl. She had school, dance class, piano lessons, and playdates with her friends. Sometimes she felt like there just weren't enough hours in the day to get everything done.

One day, Lily's mum gave her a notebook and a pen. "I want you to start making lists," she said. "Write down everything you need to do, and then you can check it off as you go. It will help you manage your time better."

Lily wasn't sure how making lists would help, but she decided to give it a try. She wrote down all the things she needed to do that day: go to school, do her homework, go to dance class, practise piano, and play with her friends. She even added "have fun" to the list, because she didn't want to forget to do that too.

As the day went on, Lily found that having a list really did help. She knew exactly what she needed to do, and she didn't waste any time wondering what to do next. She felt more in control of her day, and she even had time to spare to do a little extra reading before bed.

The next day, Lily made another list. This time, she added some extra things she wanted to do, like drawing a picture and helping her mum make dinner. She was amazed at how much she was able to accomplish when she had a plan.

From then on, Lily made a list every morning. She found that she was getting better and better at managing her time. She was never late for anything, and she always had time to do the things she loved.

One day, Lily's friend Molly came over to play. Molly was feeling a bit overwhelmed because she had a lot of things to do that day. Lily showed Molly her list and explained how it helped her manage her time. She suggested that Molly make a list of her own.

Molly thought it was a great idea, so she borrowed a notebook and a pen from Lily and started making her own list. By the end of the day, Molly was amazed at how much she had been able to accomplish. She thanked Lily for the great idea and promised to start making lists every day too.

Lily was happy to have helped her friend, and she was proud of herself for discovering the power of time management. She had learned that with a little planning and organisation, she could make the most of every day. And that was a very important lesson indeed.
