Barnaby's Bouncing Lunchbox

Barnaby was ever so hungry. "Oh, bother," he sighed, "What shall I have for lunch?" He peered into the fridge, but nothing looked quite right. He stomped to his lunchbox, feeling glum. But… WHAT was this?

His lunchbox was overflowing! A sparkly pear winked at him. A bouncy cheese cube wobbled. And a giggling grape jiggled on top. A tiny scroll was nestled amongst the food. Barnaby carefully unfurled it.

"To make a lunch that's oh-so-grand, Add something squishy from the land. With a fruit that twinkles, bright and clear, A cheesy bounce, banish all fear!"

Barnaby scratched his head. "Squishy from the land…?" He spotted a ripe tomato in a bowl. He bravely sliced it. Then, he popped the sparkly pear, bouncy cheese cube, and sliced tomato into a bowl.

"Yuck!" he cried, as cheese bounced off the pear. But then, he took a tiny bite. His eyes widened. It was… delicious! The pear made the tomato taste sweet, the cheese was bouncy and fun. Even the giggling grape was happy to be there.

Barnaby gobbled it all up. He licked the bowl clean. "That was the bestest lunch ever!" he exclaimed. He couldn't wait to see what magical ingredients and rhyming clues awaited him tomorrow. Perhaps a singing sausage or a wobbly jelly? Only time would tell!
