The Kitten and the Silver Ladder to the Moon

One bright night, little Kit sat outside and looked up at the big, shining moon. "I want to go there," Kit said softly. Near the tall, green trees of the forest, Kit found something surprising — a long, silver ladder leaning against a tree trunk. "Could this take me to the moon?" Kit wondered with wide eyes. Carefully, Kit put one paw on the first step. Step by step, Kit climbed higher and higher. The stars twinkled all around like tiny lanterns. At last, Kit reached the soft, glowing surface of the moon. It was cool and smooth under Kit’s paws. There, Kit saw a gentle moon cat with shiny fur that sparkled like stardust. "Welcome, little friend," said the moon cat with a kind smile. "I will tell you stories of the night sky." The moon cat told tales about twinkling stars, quiet craters, and dancing comets. Kit listened closely, eyes big and bright. When the stories finished, Kit felt happy and warm inside. Slowly, Kit climbed down the silver ladder, back to the tall, green trees. "I will visit the moon in my dreams," Kit purred softly, curling up under the night sky. And with the moon shining above, Kit dreamed of stars, stories, and silver ladders.
