Bravery, Best Friends, and a Check-Up Giggle

Cody woke up feeling a little nervous. Today was the day of his health check, and he wasn’t quite sure what to expect. He knew it was important to make sure he was healthy, but he still didn’t like the idea of going to the doctor’s office.

As he walked into the exam room with his mom, he tried to stay calm. Cody’s mom sat down in the chair next to him and smiled reassuringly. The nurse came in and started the check-up.

Cody’s mom checked his ears, mouth, and breath, making sure everything was in good shape. “Hmm, what’s next?” she wondered out loud. Just then, the doorbell rang. It was JJ and JJ’s mom. They had come for their health check as well.

JJ and Cody had been best friends since they were little, and they were excited to see each other. JJ’s mom and Cody’s mom chatted for a bit, and then it was time for JJ to have his health check.

Cody’s mom checked JJ’s ears, mouth, eyes, and nose, making sure everything was working as it should. “I can see that your nose is working very well!” Cody’s mom said with a smile, and they all laughed.

After the check-up, Cody and JJ went outside to play while their moms talked. “I was a little nervous about the health check,” Cody admitted to JJ. “But it wasn’t so bad after all.”

“Yeah, I was a little nervous too,” JJ replied. “But I’m glad we did it. It’s important to make sure we’re healthy.”

Cody nodded. He realized that even though he didn’t always like going to the doctor’s office, it was important to take care of his health. He felt lucky to have a friend like JJ who understood and was there with him.

As they played, Cody and JJ talked about all the things they wanted to do together in the coming weeks. They made plans to go to the park, ride their bikes, and have a sleepover. Cody felt happy and excited, knowing that he had a friend like JJ by his side.

When it was time to go, Cody and JJ said goodbye to each other and promised to hang out again soon. As they walked home, Cody felt grateful for his mom and for the check-up. He knew that even though it could be a little scary, taking care of his health was really important.

From that day on, Cody felt a little braver about going to the doctor’s office. He knew that he had nothing to worry about, especially with a friend like JJ by his side. And he always remembered the laughter they shared during their health check, which made everything a little easier.
