Quackers to the Rescue: A Pond-Sized Hero!

**Quackers Saves the Day: A Splashy Adventure**

Jamie and Quackers loved sunny afternoons by the pond. Quackers, a fluffy yellow duck with shiny orange feet, had been Jamie’s best friend since they met at this very pond. “Ready for some fun, Quackers?” Jamie asked, skipping a rock across the water.

“Quack!” answered Quackers, happily flapping his wings.

As they played by the edge of the pond, Jamie’s eyes widened. “Look, Quackers!” They pointed to a little family of turtles—Mama Turtle and five baby turtles—stuck in a muddy patch. The babies were trying to climb out, but the mud was too slippery.

Jamie crouched down. “Oh no! Those poor little turtles need help!” Jamie reached out, but the mud was sticky and gooey. “Uh-oh. I can’t do it. I might slip in too.”

Quackers waddled closer, tilting his head. He gave a confident “Quack!” as if to say, “I’ve got this!”

Flap-flap-flap! Quackers used his strong wings to splash water toward the mud. His feathers sparkled in the sunshine as he worked. Splish! Splash! The water turned the sticky mud into a smoother, watery path.

“Keep going, Quackers! You’re doing it!” Jamie cheered.

One by one, the baby turtles slid along the watery path. “Almost there!” Jamie called as the last baby turtle made it to the grassy shore where Mama Turtle was waiting.

“You did it, Quackers!” Jamie laughed, giving their feathery friend a big hug. Quackers wiggled happily, letting out a loud and proud “Quaaack!”

Mama Turtle turned to Jamie and Quackers, as if to say thank you. The baby turtles peeked out from behind her and gave tiny squeaky chirps.

Jamie smiled. “We make a great team, Quackers. Helping others feels pretty great, doesn’t it?”

“Quack-quack!” Quackers agreed.

And as the turtles splashed into the pond, Jamie and Quackers sat by the water, knowing they had made the pond a happier place that day.
