Royal Rescuers: The Tale of the Lost Kitten

**The Princesses and the Lost Kitten**

Ahaana spun in a circle, her sparkly dress glittering in the sunlight. "Princess Ahaana declares this garden our royal kingdom!" she announced, her warm smile making her little sister, Mira, giggle.

Mira clapped her hands, her fluffy pink tutu bouncing. "And I’m Princess Mira! Let’s have a tea party with the squirrels!"

But just as they were about to sit on their pretend thrones, they heard a soft "meow."

Mira’s eyes widened. "Did you hear that?" she whispered.

"Yes! It sounded like... a kitten!" Ahaana said. The two princesses tiptoed around the garden, looking under bushes and behind flowerpots.

Finally, under the big rose bush, they spotted a tiny grey kitten with big green eyes. It looked scared and all alone.

"Oh, you poor thing," Mira said, kneeling down. "Where’s your mummy?"

The kitten meowed again, and Ahaana gently scooped it up. "Don’t worry, little one. We’ll help you, just like real princesses!"

The girls hurried to their playhouse. Ahaana grabbed a soft blanket and made a cosy bed, while Mira found a bowl and poured in some water.

"What do we do now?" Mira asked, stroking the kitten’s soft fur.

"Well," Ahaana said, thinking hard, "we need to find the owner. But first, we should make sure the kitten feels safe."

For the rest of the afternoon, the princesses took turns cuddling the kitten and playing with it using a bit of string. They even made a little crown for it out of flowers.

Just as the sun was setting, they heard a voice calling, "Mittens! Where are you, Mittens?"

Ahaana and Mira looked up to see a woman standing by the garden fence. "Is this your kitten?" Ahaana asked, holding Mittens carefully.

"Oh, yes! Thank you so much," the woman said with a big smile. "I’ve been looking everywhere for her!"

When their mum heard what they’d done, she said, "I’m so proud of you both. You were kind, caring, and worked together like true princesses."

Ahaana and Mira grinned. "It’s what princesses do!" they said, hugging each other—and Mittens, one last time.
