Detective Chick and the Case of the Missing Cheese

Detective Chick was a smart little chicken. She wore a checkered hat and carried a chalk notebook. Her partner was Chip, a brave brown dog.

One chilly morning, Chick got a call. “Someone chomped the cheese and ran away!” “Let’s go, Chip!” Chick clucked. “This is a case we must chase!”

They checked the chair. No cheese. They checked the chest. No cheese. They followed cheese crumbs down the hall. “Look!” barked Chip. “Cheese on the floor!”

At the end of the trail, they saw tiny paw prints… “It’s Chester the mouse!” said Chick.

They tiptoed in and found Chester holding the last piece of cheese. “I just wanted a little cheddar,” squeaked Chester.

Chick smiled. “Next time, just check with us!” They all shared some cheese and laughed. Case closed!
