Julie and the Squirrel: A Tale of Kindness and Gentleness
Julie was a young girl who loved Jesus with all her heart. She woke up every morning and thanked Him for the new day He had given her. She loved going to church and learning more about Jesus. But what Julie loved even more was kindness. She believed that everyone deserved to be treated with kindness, no matter who they were or what they had done.
One day, Julie was walking in the park when she saw a group of children teasing another child. The child was crying, and Julie knew she had to do something. She walked up to the group and said, "Stop! You're hurting him!" The other children stopped and looked at Julie, surprised.
"Why should we listen to you?" one of them asked. "You're just a silly follower of Jesus."
Julie smiled and said, "I am a follower of Jesus, and that means I treat everyone with kindness. It doesn't matter who they are or what they've done."
The children looked at each other, unsure. But Julie didn't give up. She walked up to the child who was crying and said, "Are you okay?"
The child nodded, still sniffling. Julie gave the child a hug and said, "Don't worry, I won't let anyone hurt you again."
The other children looked at Julie in shock. They couldn't believe that someone could be so kind and brave. But as they looked at Julie's gentle face and saw the way she treated everyone with love, they began to see that maybe they had been wrong.
The children who had been teasing the child ran away, ashamed. But Julie didn't let them get to her. She knew that standing up for what was right was more important than anything else.
As Julie continued on her way, feeling proud of herself for doing the right thing, something hilarious happened. Out of nowhere, a squirrel jumped onto her head and started to eat her hair! Julie didn't scream or get upset. Instead, she gently removed the squirrel and let it go, realizing that even God's creatures deserved kindness.
From that day on, Julie continued to stand boldly with gentleness and kindness. She never forgot the lesson she learned in the park, and she always stayed true to Jesus no matter what the opposition was. And every time she thought back to that silly squirrel, she couldn't help but laugh and remember how wonderful it was to be kind.
