The Princess Bird and the Different Catfish
Once upon a time, high up in the sky there lived a little Princess Bird named Lasi. She had beautiful feathers of vibrant pink, yellow and purple that made her stand out amongst all the other birds. Lasi was quite different from all the other birds because instead of eating fish like they did, she liked to make friends with them.
Lasi often flew down to the big blue ocean below, where she swam alongside the fish, turtles and Jellyfish. She would chat away to the ‘ocean-ites’ about their lives, showing her interest and appreciation for their stories. The fish in particular thought it was so cool that a bird wanted to hang out with them.
One day, as Lasi was swimming along, she spotted a blue Catfish lurking in the shadows. She had never seen a Catfish before and was very curious. Despite the brave face she put on in front of the other animals, Lasi was quite scared. She quickly swam away from the Catfish and back to safety.
The fish were so impressed by her bravery that they decided to throw Lasi a party. They asked the Jellyfish to light up the whole ocean with their bioluminescence and then celebrated with songs, games and of course lots of yummy fishy treats!
But suddenly, everyone noticed the Catfish swimming towards them. Instantly, everyone started running away in terror. But Lasi knew that the Catfish wasn’t evil; he was just different. So she swam up to him and gently explained that it was alright not to like something.
The Catfish was so relieved to hear this. He thanked Lasi for her understanding and that’s how they became friends. Since then, Lasi has been teaching the other animals that it’s ok to be different and it’s ok not to like something.
The moral of the story is that it’s ok not to like something. Everyone is unique and that’s what makes life special.
